Flagellation of Christ

Tempera on wood, the dating of construction is uncertain, as the commission and the final destination of the work. It is undoubtedly a painting very meditated in terms of composition and perspective. The composition is in fact divided into two scenes, separated from the column that supports the temple, within which there is the flagellation of Christ. According to critics the work contains veiled allusions to contemporary reality of the painter, is in fact one of the most controversial paintings in art history.
