The Museum of Scales
The Museum of Scales was born thanks to the passion of Velio Ortolani, extraordinary collector who has provided some of its unusual and consistent collection of weights and measures, one of the most important in Europe by type, history and number of pieces. There are about 160 objects enclosed in this unique museum, which allow visitors to retrace more than 600 years of history of the scale, from the Renaissance until the last century.
The thematic museum’s interactive and fun, even for the little ones, leading to the discovery of ancient crafts, such as duters and changers, industrial or agricultural activities as the breeding of silkworms.
The entrance to the museum is included in the ticket of the Madonna del Parto.
